Demolition and site work for a residential development in Ely, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The City of Ely is requesting quotes for the demolition of two residential properties located in Ely on behalf of St. Louis County. These properties are located at 726 East Camp Street and 0South Central Avenue. This project is anticipated to be partially funded by the Department of Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation. The City of Ely reserves the right to refuse any and all quotes and to award the project in the best interest of the City of Ely and the property owner. This WORK shall consist ofthe demolition and disposal oftwo properties shown on the attached drawings at 726 East Camp Street and 131 South Central Avenue and related appurtenances as shown on the plans within the construction limits in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Transportation Specification 2103, the Plans, and the Specific Requirements. The removal of existing buildings, concrete structures, existing piping, and other items for complete building removal as identified and in the Specific Requirements shall be done by the CONTRACTOR. All materials not designated for salvage and all debris resulting in the removal operations shall be disposed of by the CONTRACTOR in accordance to all applicable laws, ordinances and any requirements ofthe applicable regulatory agency. An Asbestos Inspection Report and Hazardous Materials Survey Report has been completed for both properties. Abatement work was performed at 131 S. Central Avenue. No abatement work has been performed at 726 E. Camp It is the responsibility ofthe CONTRACTOR to verify that hazardous materials are disposed of properly. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for verifying any remaining quantities and types ofmaterials prior to bidding. All regulated wastes removal shall be in accordance to all applicable rules and regulations Before commencing demolition work, preserve in operating condition, active utilities traversing the project site; protect property, including but not limited to water mains, sewer mains, electrical service, telephone service, valve boxes, poles, property pins, guys and/or other appurtenances. The water and sewer service is assumed to be shared between the two structures on the property. The CONTRACTOR shall conduct demolition operations and the removal of debris to ensure minimum interference with streets, roads, walks, and other adjacent occupied building or facilities The building and site conditions existing at the time of inspection for bidding purposes will be maintained by the OWNER in so far as practicable. The CITY assumes no responsibility for the actual condition of the building to be demolished. The Contractor will be given 21 calendar days from the start of demolition to complete demolition and disposal ofthe buildings and complete backfill and grading.
