The purpose of this project is to complete five sediment remedial investigations (RI) within the Detroit River Area of Concern (AOC). The five RI areas (from upstream to downstream) include: Harbortown Shoreline, the Riverbend Shoreline, the Rouge River-Ecorse Shoreline, the Elizabeth Park Canal, and the Gibraltar Canals. These RIs will assess current conditions and fill data gaps to determine nature and extent, evaluate source controls and delineate estimate volumes of contaminated sediment to be remediated during future remedial action within the Detroit River AOC.
