The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a Notice of Inviting Bids (NIB) for the Interstate 15 (I-15) Smart Freeway Demonstration Project (Project). The Project will be a demonstration (pilot) project to implement an advanced Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) consisting of a coordinated ramp metering system along the northbound I-15 through Temecula. The project consists generally of the following works: • Civil improvements at three on-ramps along the northbound I-15 in Temecula, CA. • Installation, testing and commissioning of ITS improvements including vehicle detectors, ramp metering installations, closed circuit television and variable speed limit signs. • Operations and maintenance of the ITS and civil improvements for a 2-year demonstration period*
