Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Baker, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a power facility.
Soda Mountain Solar, LLC proposes to build a 300-megawatt solar power plant and battery storage system on 2,670 acres of federal land administered by the Bureau of Land Management, located about six miles southwest of Baker, near the Mojave National Preserve. The facility would operate year-round and deliver electricity to California's power grid. The project has been revived under Assembly Bill 205, which allows developers to bypass local approval and seek permits directly from the California Energy Commission.
