The St. Mary's County Government is seeking bidders to provide sealed bids with competitive pricing for Airport Obstruction/Tree Removal Services, in accordance with this Solicitation. Primarily all hardwood trees shall be removed from the site. When referring to trees left onsite, this extends only to Pines and other Coniferous Trees and undersized trees, unless noted. All trees left on the ground shall be de-limbed so that no remaining branches are left 3 feet above the ground. No remaining stumps shall be left 3 feet above the ground. Care shall be taken to prevent trees from "stacking" on top of each other. All trees located near a wetland delineated area (Attachment J-10) should be prevented from entering the wetland. All trees penetrating a wetland/water delineated site shall be promptly removed from the water. The Contractor shall complete all Work, and Project shall be in a finished condition as specified, with all equipment, materials, and tools having been removed from the job site within this period. The County anticipates issuing a Notice to Proceed (NTP) following the Contract Award. The Contractor will be required to commence work within ten (10) calendar days from the date shown in the NTP. The successful Bidder shall be required to deliver to the County a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, properly executed by a Surety Company acceptable to the County and authorized to do business in the State of Maryland, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the respective Contract amount. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Copy of the Bid Bond from a Surety Company acceptable to the County and authorized to do business in the State of Maryland, properly executed in favor of the Commissioners of St. Mary's County for not less than five (5) percent of the amount representing the bid or sum total noted in the Proposal Form.
