Renovation of a municipal facility in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The project consists of replacing the existing generator with a new natural gas-fired generator of similar capacity. Unlike the existing generator, the new generator will be located outside the building. The installation of the new generator can mostly be done while keeping the existing generator functional, so as to avoid the prolonged need for a temporary generator. The gas meter as well as the main gas source that will power the new generator are existing and located next to the proposed location, making it easy to get power. This installation must comply with the code "National Standard of Canada CSA C282 2019 - 7.3.7 and CSA B149.1:20 - 7.2.3, so the natural gas supply to the generator is arranged so that the natural gas supply to other appliances can be shut off without interrupting the power supply to the backup generator.
