This project consists of the installation of seven (7) backflow prevention valves and three (3) double check valves at various sites throughout the Town of Mamou. Each site with a backflow preventer will include a lockable aluminum enclosure, a 6 thick concrete pad, four steel bollards, and the appropriate piping and fittings required to tie into existing waterlines. Additionally, the HVAC systems will be replaced in nine (9) two-bedroom units and eight (8) three-bedroom units. The work will consist of furnishing and installing new furnaces, condensers, evaporators, piping, ductwork, plenums, diffusers, thermostats, etc. Further, all additional components such as electrical components to supply the necessary power to the units, minor carpentry (platforms, doors, molding, trim, etc.), sheetrock, floating, and painting will all be included. Bona fide General Contract bidders may secure copies of the proposed contract documents from the office of the Engineer on the following basis: 1. On any bid submitted in the amount of fifty thousand dollars or more, a Contractor shall certify that he is licensed under the provisions of paragraph A, Section 2163 of the Contractors Licensing Law and shall show his license number on the bid envelope. 2. No partial sets will be issued. 3. All work completed in this project shall comply with Executive Order No. 11246 Equal Employment Opportunity. 4. It is required that on any bid for this project submitted in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) or more, one dollar ($1) or more for hazardous materials or mold remediation, or ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or more for Plumbing, Electrical or Mechanical, the contractor shall certify licensure under R.S. 37:2150-2192 and show the license number on the bid envelope. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in the state, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality incidental thereto.
