Saving Project...

Site work for a mixed-use development in Clarkston, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and educational facility.

All areas of the school, including the playground, must be accessible for the participation of all students in order to meet its goal of full inclusion. The design, installation and maintenance of play equipment and the surface material is critical to achieving an inclusive environment that facilitates child development and enables children with disabilities to fully participate with their non-disabled peers. Inaccessible surfaces pose barriers for children who use wheeled devices. Pushing over loose materials requires tremendous physical effort leaving little to no energy left for play. The current surface creates limited access via an uneven and unstable surface which cannot be traversed easily by wheels. A poured in place rubber surface, which will require excavation, backfill, concrete, and drainage construction, is the only safe and accessible option. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Deadline for submission of written questions Friday, October 6th, 2023 The Owner reserves the right to disqualify a proposer from the selection process due to a failure by a proposer to arrive for the site visit by the scheduled time.
