Renovation of a library in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Design plans call for the renovation of a 75,000-square-foot library.
Renovation of a retail space in the Intercity Mall for a new library branch. The areas designated include but not limited to: Children's Library and play area; Gaming Space; Community Services Space with bookable meeting spaces; Adult Collections Area with bookable meeting spaces; Indigenous Knowledge Centre; Food/Beverage Kiosk; Employee Workspaces; Business Partner Spaces. TIMELINE: The architect completed a preliminary design memorandum, including design criteria, a project budget and preliminary drawings sufficient to secure funding and approval to proceed with the project from City Council. Preliminary plans were presented to council and rejected (Lowe's Site). The owner has proposed a new mall location with a reduced footprint (24,000 sq ft) & cost at the Monday, April 28, 2025, Council Meeting, but it was voted down. Updates may be available fall 2025.
