Donald Wapato Conveyance Improvement Project Site Directions: The project site is the mid- Yakima River Island located adjacent to the Donald-Wapato (Road) Bridge west of Interstate-82. Directions to the project site: - From I-82 E toward Richland, take Exist 44 toward Wapato. Then, turn right onto Donald Wapato Rd., the mid- river island will be on the right of the Donald-Wapato (Road) Bridge - From I-82 W toward Yakima, take Exist 44 toward Wapato, turn left onto Donald Wapato Rd., the mid- river island will be on the right of the Donald-Wapato (Road) Bridge Est. Value: $ 300,000.00 Est. Value Notes: Engineers Estimate This Contract provides for the improvement of the conveyance along the Donald Wapato reach of the Lower Yakima River, by constructing approximately 960 linear feet of floodplain channels and removing various types of existing artificial materials from the area. Work includes clearing and grubbing, channel and abandoned ramp excavation including haul, berm, and spoil pile construction, and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions and Standard Specifications. The work is funded by grant funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology through the Yakima Basin Integrated Planning Grant.
