As of October 17, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. The project is in the design phase and will have two construction phases. Phase 1 starts in 2025 and is estimated to last 18 to 24 months. A detailed scope has not yet been released. Maui County will use its $25 million grant to build a mile-long extension to a two-lane road.
