The Installation scope of work includes the following Removal of Existing Chiller o Reclaim Refrigerant from existing chiller for proper disposal o Disconnect piping, o Removal of old chiller and discard Upon removal of the existing chiller and with any parts removed as salvage for re-use on the new chiller, it is the intent of these Specifications that the existing chiller, once removed, be taken offsite immediately after removal, for proper legal disposal, all at the Contractor's expense under the Contract price. Installation and Operation of New Chiller: o Crane work to be performed on Saturday at Carroll School , all other locations the crane work is to take place during normal business hours o Install new Chiller o Install new Y-strainer in piping o Make needed piping changes for chiller connections to existing piping o Insulate newly installed piping o Insulation will consist of 2" fiberglass, covered with vinyl jacketing o Electrical connection of new chiller to existing wiring and control panels o Manufacturer recommended Start-up upon installation of new chiller The Bid describes removal and installation of two HVAC chiller units at Carroll Elementary School and Peabody High School. Interested contractors are advised that award of the Contract shall be to a firm with DCAMM Category of work in BOTH Prime Contract trades of HVAC and Mechanical Systems Replace Chiller Units at Two schools Basis of design is replacement of chillers with latest model from manufacturer of the current units.
