Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Lenox, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the construction of a 24,000-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; pre-engineered storage facility; and pre-engineered storage facility.
The scope of work includes the of the new construction of the joined Police and Fire public safety complex building and grounds. The building will be a single story, 24,000 square foot, wood, and steel framed facility with slab on grade construction. The scope will include all site improvements and development. The scope may also include a separate pre-engineered building for equipment storage and a standalone carport on site. Refer to the schedule of Alternates. Sub Bid Category Masonry, Waterproofing, Roofing & Flashing, Metal Windows, Tile, Acoustic Tile, Resilient Flooring, Painting, Fire Suppression, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical Before 5:00pm March 22, 2024 for Filed Sub-Bids The contractor shall direct all questions in writing concerning the Plans and Specifications to Architect's contact information: Jim Hanifan Caolo & Bieniek Associates, Inc. JHanifan@cbaarchitects.net All bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a certified, cashier's or treasurer's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company made payable to the Town of Lenox or a bid bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. The successful general bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum. Bonds shall be obtained from a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Filed Sub-bidder categories for this project are as follows: Masonry Waterproofing, Damp-proofing & Caulking Roofing & Flashing Metal Windows Tile Acoustic Tile Resilient Flooring Painting Fire Suppression Plumbing Heating, Ventilation & Cooling (HVAC) Electrical Only Bids from PREQUALIFED subcontractor and General Contracting firms will be accepted The Contractor shall start work under this Contract on written notice from and on the date set forth by the Town and continue to completion with all practical dispatch and regularity so that the entire project shall be substantially completed on or before September 1, 2025 and completed on or before November 1, 2025. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all General Bids if it be in the public interest to do so. Every general Bid which is not accompanied by a bid deposit as prescribed by paragraph (2) of Section 44B, or which otherwise does not conform to Sections 44E to 44H inclusive, or which is on the form not completely filled in, or which is incomplete, conditional or obscure, or which contains any addition not called for, shall be invalid, and the Awarding Authority shall reject every such bid in accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 44E, subsection (3).
