Demolition and site work for a residential development in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
As of March 7, 2024, the project has not been awarded. A timeline for award has not been confirmed. Columbia County Redevelopment Authority (CCRA) will receive sealed bids for demolition of structures at 381 Summerhill Road, Berwick, Briar Creek Township, PA 18603. The work includes but is not limited to all labor, materials, tools, oversight and permits required to demolish the property in its entirety which includes the residence, garage, sheds and abate present asbestos materials. Questions may be submitted Electronically Clarification Deadline: 10/20/2023 12:00 PM Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond with a corporate surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, in accordance with the project specifications in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount. A Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder as detailed in the Instructions to Bidders. PHASED CONSTRUCTION A. The Work shall be conducted in a single phase. B. Before commencing Work submit an updated copy of the Contractor's schedule showing the sequence, commencement and completion dates for all of the Work. Scope- The work includes but is not limited to all labor, materials, tools, oversight and permits required to provide asbestos abatement supervision, properly demolish structures, cap and remove of existing utilities, site grading and restoration, and disposal of all demolition materials for the following properties: a. 381 Summerhill Road, Berwick, PA (Briar Creek Township) An abstract of the bids received will be available to bidders at the date and time that bids are due as indicated above. In addition to the Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246 regarding discrimination, the Awarded Contractor must establish a 3% goal for female participation and a 5% goal for minority participation in his/her aggregate on-site construction workforce for contracts in excess of $10,000. Section 3 requires that the Awarded Contractor must utilize, to the greatest extent feasible, local area businesses, trainees, employees, and low-moderate income persons within the general trade area to reach a goal of 10%. The bidders/offerors must submit documentary evidence of minority and women business enterprises who have been contacted and to whom commitments have been made. Documentation of such solicitations and commitments shall be submitted concurrently with the bid. In accordance with Executive Orders 11625, 12138, and Columbia Countys MBE plan, the Awarded Contractor must utilize, to the greatest extent feasible, minority and/or women owned business concerns. Bidders are hereby notified that MBE/WBE firms will be afforded full opportunity to bid without discrimination. Davis-Bacon and Related Acts apply to this Project. CCHRA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or portions or to waive any informalities in bidding and to withhold award for a period of sixty days.
