As of November 28, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary for the replacement of a single span steel plate girder bridge with a two-span prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge that carries S.R. 1001 over the Northeast Extension of the Turnpike. Work also includes reconstruction of the S.R. 1001 approach roadway and Turnpike shoulders, maintenance and protection of Turnpike and local roadway traffic, and drainage improvements. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.)
