project consists of furnishing, installing, tunneling, testing and making operational approximately 3,900 L.F. of 8-inch diameter C-909 PVC watermain, 140 L.F. of 12-inch diameter C-909 PVC water main, 655 L.F. of 8-inch CML/CMC watermain, 575 L.F. of 12-inch diameter CML/CMC watermain, bore and jacking of 500 L.F. of 42-inch diameter steel pipe casing under SR-60 Freeway; all connections to existing waterlines, all appurtenances blow-offs, air valves, fire hydrants, isolation valves, and water service meters and meter boxes; the project also consists of refurbishing fire hydrants, and all associated paving, trenching, and surface restoration; abandonment of existing waterlines, installation of new water service and meter box; import materials; excavation, backfilling, compaction, paving, traffic control and all other work and materials to complete the contract work. The successful Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, transportation, tools, supplies, plant, equipment, and appurtenances, unless specifically excepted, for the satisfactory completion of the entire contract work, in accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. All work under this contract shall be completed and operational within 275 calendar days from the date the District gives written "Notice of Award" to the Contractor. A job site tour/inspection will not be conducted by the District. Each proposal must be accompanied by: (a) cash; (b) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the "Jurupa Community Services District"; (c) equivalent cash or securities pursuant to Section 995.710 of the Code of Civil Procedure, or (d) a bid bond payable to "Jurupa Community Services District" executed by the bidder as principal and surety as obligor in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid. Furnish a performance bond as required thereby with a corporate surety or sureties satisfactory to the District, or equivalent cash or securities for the faithful performance of the said contract. Personal sureties and unregistered surety companies are unacceptable. The surety insurer shall be a California admitted surety insurer, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120.
