The Marin Municipal Water District (District) is seeking request for proposals (RFP) from qualified professional engineering consultant firms for the Soulajule Pipeline Project (Project). Professional engineering services for this project shall include areas of Civil, Geotechnical, Land Survey, Environmental and Real Property and other disciplines necessary to fully design and construct the Project. The District will be requiring professional engineering services for the design of new pipeline from the point of termination of our Soulajule pipeline. The Soulajule pipeline conveys water from the Soulajule Pump Station and discharges the water onto a tributary that feeds Nicasio Reservoir (see Attachment C). The Project would tie into the existing pipeline discharge point and convey the water into the main body of the Nicasio Reservoir with a discharge structure. The Project will also conduct a condition assessment on the existing pipeline from the Soulajule Pump Station to the existing discharge point to evaluate any issues with the pipe and points of repair. Additional information can be found in the Scope of Work Attachment A of this RFP. Experience, qualifications and schedule will be key in the selection of the engineering firm. The Marin Municipal Water District was formed in 1912 and is the first municipal water district in California. Approximately 75 percent of our water comes from our local reservoirs on the Mt. Tamalpais watershed and west Marin. The remaining supply comes from the Russian River up north. The District serves approximately 191,000 residents in Marin County and operates seven surface water reservoirs, three water treatment plants, ninety seven pump stations, one hundred thirty potable water storage tanks and over nine hundred miles of pipe. The District understands that prospective consultant teams may have questions about the content and requirements of this RFP. Questions pertaining to the RFP may be submitted to aanaya@marinwater.org with a subject line of Soulajule Pipeline Project until 5:00pm on November 10th, 2023, 2023. At that time, all questions will be compiled, provided a response, and recirculated to all prospective teams. The compiled responses will also be available Electronically. It is anticipated the District will select the most qualified consultant team by December 1, 2023. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
