Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Portland, Oregon. Design plans call for the construction of a theater / auditorium; for site work for a theater / auditorium; hospitality development; and conference / convention center.
Proposed project includes a new standalone performing arts building with associated site work. Scope would include an outdoor plaza and an indoor 3,000-seat auditorium, cast and crew support spaces with docking areas for load in/out capabilities. The lobby and pre-function space will allow for large community and cultural gatherings, events and merchandising opportunities. Also proposed is an adjoining privately funded boutique hotel and conference center with multiple restaurant and bar venues. This proposed building will replace the aging Keller Auditorium. As of February 14, 2024, PSU has selected a team to develop a proposal to present to the City of Portland for the development of land in downtown for a new arts and entertainment complex. City Council decision is expected summer 2024. As of July 11, 2024, a decision is still pending announcement. A public forum has been scheduled for July 17, 2024 to discuss the project.
