Renovation of an educational facility in Reedley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Contractor agrees to furnish all labor, equipment and materials, including tools, implements, and appliances required, and to perform all the Work in a good and workmanlike manner, free from any and all liens and claims from mechanics, material suppliers, subcontractors, artisans, machinists, teamsters, freight carriers, and laborers required for: Public works projects shall be subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. For all projects over Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to submit a bid or to be listed in a bid proposal subject to the requirements of Public Contract Code section 4104 unless currently registered and qualified under Labor Code section 1725.5 to perform public work as defined by Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1 (&&1720 et seq.) of the Labor Code. For all projects over Twenty- Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to enter into, or engage in the performance of, any contract of public work (as defined by Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1 (&&1720 et seq.) of the Labor Code) unless currently registered and qualified under Labor Code section 1725.5 to perform public work. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, as set forth in the Contract Documents. The Owner will withhold retention of 5% from all progress payments. For all projects over Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), the Owner shall not accept any bid or enter into any contract without proof of the bidder's current registration to perform public work under Labor Code section 1725.5. For all projects over Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), the bidder shall not accept any sub-bid or enter into any subcontract without proof of the subcontractor's current registration to perform public work under Labor Code section 1725.5. Failure to Complete the Work within the time and in the manner provided for by the Contract Documents shall subject the Contractor to liquidated damages. Time is of the essence in this Contract, and the time of Completion for the Work ("the Contract Time") shall be (14) calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The Owner will not consider or accept any bids from contractors who are not licensed to do business in the State of California, in accordance with the California Public Contract Code, providing for the licensing of contractors. Remove existing shingle roof system, patches, repairs, and related flashings down to the roof deck at locations indicated on drawings. Install new laminated asphalt shingle roof system at roof areas as indicated on drawings with related elements. New asphalt shingles and underlayment to be per specifications. C. Removal and dispose of existing sheet metal flashing elements and prefabricated curbs where indicated on drawings. D. Work is defined as including all material, labor, equipment and services necessary to complete all work shown on the Drawings and/or as called for in the Specifications. All work to comply with manufacturer specifications. E. Install new sheet metal flashings and pre-fabricated curbs where indicated on drawings. F. Install new sheet metal step flashings, transition flashings and miscellaneous flashings as indicated on drawings or as required to properly install new roof system per manufacturer requirements. H. Contractor shall include five (10) 1" x 7" X 10' lumber roof decking in the bid for the work, including labor and material to replace damaged or defective 1x roof decking as authorized by the Building Owner. Contractor shall deduct the cost of unused roof decking based on unit price from the final billing provided to the Building Owner. I. Provide Additive Unit Bid for replacement of additional defective 1x roof decking, including all labor and material to remove existing decking and install new 1x roofdecking. Unit bid to be based on replacement cost per 1" x 7" x 10' roof deck board. L. Refer to drawings and technical specifications for additional information concerning specified scope of work. M. Scope of Contract: Excepting as otherwise expressly provided herein, the Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, materials, tools, appliances, access means, equipment, services, fuel and transportation required to complete the general construction of the roof replacement with these specifications and the drawings. The contract will include but shall not be limited to, the principal items of work denoted by the titles of the specifications listed in the index. The work of the contractor shall be made complete and finished in a workmanlike manner in all parts and respects. Work and materials indicated on the drawings or expressly called for in the specifications, but which are manifestly necessary for the proper, full and faithful performance of the work in accordance with the true intent and meaning of the work and contract documents, shall be provided and incorporated in the work by and at the expense of the Contractor and to the same effect as if both indicated on the drawings and hereinafter specified. All work indicated on the drawings shall conform to all requirements of the terms and conditions, safety and fire regulations, the general conditions, the specifications and to all addenda and instruction that may be issued subsequently by Kings Canyon Unified School District to supplement, modify, or to interpret the work indicated on the drawings. Changes to be by written Change Orders or addenda. All Change Orders shall be signed by the representative of Kings Canyon Unified School District, and the Contractor. O. Drawings: All work shall conform to all requirements of the drawings and to such supplemental detail drawings as may be issued subsequently by Kings Canyon Unified School District to further delineate and explain the work of the contractor.
