Renovation of a municipal facility in Orleans, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The Town Manager will receive sealed bids for labor, materials and equipment in accordance with Mass General Law Chapter 149, for the demolition, equipment replacement and equipment installation of the fire alarm control panel, replacement of existing fire alarm devices and annunciators and programming at the Town Hall located at 19 School Road. Questions regarding this IFB can be directed to the Licensing Agent & Procurement Director Mihaela Miteva at the Town Managers Office at 508 240-3700 x 2415, 19 School Road, Orleans, MA 02653 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or emailing mmiteva@town.orl Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope indicating the applicants name and address and clearly marked Replacement of Town Hall Fire Alarm System. Unforeseen Office Closure - if, at the time of the scheduled bid opening, Orleans Town Hall is closed due to uncontrolled events such as fire, snow, ice, wind, or building evacuation, the bid opening will be postponed until 3:00 PM. on the next normal business day. Bids will be accepted until that date and time. Wages are subject to prevailing wage rates as per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149. The contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex or national origin. Attention is also called to requirements relating to workers compensation, OSHA certifications and conditions of employment. Every general bidder must submit a Bid Deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of his respective bid, with his bid. The bid deposit may be in the form of a certified, treasurers or cashiers check from a responsible bank or trust company payable to the awarding authority; cash or a bid bond from a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth. The successful bidder must furnish a Payment Bond in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the owner, for the faithful performance of the contract price. The Town Manager reserves the right to accept and/or reject any and all bids and waive any informality in bidding procedures to the extent allowed by law and make the award as may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Bid award will be made on or before Friday March 15, 2024.
