Maxey-Crooms house restoration project and contractor opportunities. Built in 1924, Maxey-Crooms House is a Frame Vernacular residence with Craftsman elements notable for its social history and architectural merit. The project entails a full historic restoration of the home, located at 638 West Anderson Street. The City of Orlando has selected KMF Architects for project design and will be conducting a federally-compliant procurement process for a general contractor and subcontractors. The building will provide office space for one or more nonprofit organizations, with a preference for organizations with a history of serving the Parramore neighborhood. The City of Orlando will host two public meetings to share information on this project and to encourage certified M/WBE contractor participation. Speakers will discuss the project details, planned schedule of project events, how to find and submit a response to the Invitation for Bids, M/WBE certification, and more. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check made out to the City of Orlando, or other security as provided by law, in an amount not less than 10% of the total base bid. Refreshments will be provided.
