Santa Barbara Community College District (District) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (Proposer) for professional services to provide construction management services for the Physical Education (PE) Replacement Building Project. The District desires to engage one firm to provide a complete range of construction management (CM) services to support the PE Replacement Building Project. The full contracted scope of work shall be negotiated with the selected firm, based on the services proposed by the firm and/or required by the District. It is essential for the selected firm to recognize the need to preserve the collegial and participative culture of the community college environment while effectively and efficiently completing projects. It is critical that the CM firm is successfully able to blend the authority delegated to them by the District with the District's non-delegable responsibilities to form a constructive and effective working relationship. Santa Barbara Community College was established by the Santa Barbara High School District in 1909, making it one of the oldest community colleges in California. Santa Barbara Community College District consists of one college site and two center sites. Santa Barbara Community College has expanded its facilities over the years and continues to improve its facilities to better serve their students helping them to earn degrees, preparing for transfer to four-year institutions, and readying them for careers though technical education. SCOPE The Scope of Services will include construction management services for the PE Replacement Building Project. The services will include managing and coordinating swing space and managing demolition and replacement of the existing Physical Education Building with approximate equivalent square footage and equivalent building program space comprised of the gymnasium, locker rooms, Life Fitness Center, dance and group exercise rooms, offices, and training room. The project will be phased to allow minimal disruption to the Life Fitness Programs during the project. The approximate project cost is $72 million. Questions regarding this RFQ/P must be submitted on or before Friday, October 27, 2023, by 2:00 P.M., Pacific Standard Time. Santa Barbara Community College District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive any proposal informalities, irregularities, or minor omissions or cancel this RFQ/P and reissue a new RFQ/P if it is deemed in the best interest of the District.
