Scope of Project Work: The purpose of this project is to improve water quality in Martin Lake by stabilizing eroding lakeshore and installing vegetated buffers that filter stormwater runoff. Project components include: Shoreline stabilization construction at eight parcels that are not contiguous, totaling approximately 650 linear feet of shoreline. Construction includes grading, removing wood retaining walls, excavation, rock rip rap, coconut fiber biologs, erosion control, and vegetated buffers planting. The Concept Designs (Exhibit E) provided in the initial posting of this bid document will be followed by a bid addendum with full designs and quantities approximately 10 days before bid closing. Online bidding will become available at that time. ACD reserves the right to change the number of project sites, or scope of work at any individual site, based on available budget or changes in landowner willingness. Unit prices of the successful bidder shall be utilized for all such changes at the time of contract execution. In addition to the project sites, six additional Martin Lakeshore landowners have asked that their names and addresses be shared with the selected contractor. Those landowners are also seeking lakeshore stabilization services. Any such services are separate from this project and to be arranged directly between the contractor and landowner. Most project sites have no overland access to the lakefront (it is blocked by structures, retaining walls, etc). The contractor must detail their proposed method of site access such as over ice, barge, or other. And, the contractor must have a backup option if work over the ice is the primary means of access. While completing the majority of work over the ice in winter is acceptable, the contractor must return in spring for touch up grading and planting.
