Renovation of a residential development in Elba, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The Elba Housing Authority invites experienced and qualified contractors who specialize in roofing replacement and installation to submit proposals for the replacement of roofs at two properties located in Elba, Alabama: 710 Kennedy Drive and 716 Roosevelt Drive. The scope of work includes: Installation of new 24 GA, paint finished, galvalume steel metal roof panels over the existing felt and composition shingles. Replacement of all roof jacks. Replacement or repair of existing 1/2" plywood decking only when necessary. Securing metal roofing to 1x4 wood furring strips. Keeping metal roofs swept and clear of debris, including metal filings and shavings. Proper hauling and disposal of all construction debris. Qualifications and Requirements: eVerify Compliance: Bidders must be cleared through eVerify, verifying their legal eligibility to work in the United States Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage Rates: Contractors must comply with Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage Rates for the duration of the project. Section 3 Compliance: Contractors must comply with Section 3 requirements as defined in the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, which provides opportunities for low-income individuals to be employed or receive training in connection with projects funded by HUD. Insurance: The winning bidder must provide copies of current general liability insurance with an endorsement in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate limit prior to starting work on the project. Additionally, copies of Worker's Compensation insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 per accident or proof of exemption from Worker's Compensation insurance in the state of Alabama must be submitted.
