Design plans call for the addition of a 11,700-square-foot municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

As of October 17, 2024, an architect has been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to 2027. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The current Utilities Field Operations building was constructed in 1992. The roof was replaced approximately 10 years ago and in 2019 the restroom floors were upgraded along with some light painting throughout the building. Currently Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County Utilities is contemplating the renovation of the 11,700 square foot building with the possibility of adding an additional 1500 - 3000 square feet connected to the existing structure if necessary. The project will include additional offices, breakroom, restroom capacity, and effective utilization of existing office space either by renovating the original facilities or in the addition. The successful firm will investigate City needs, prepare specifications, prepare construction documents and provide construction administration services during the project. Note that the 10% goal for participation by minority and women-owned businesses established for this service applies to the entirety of the project (including construction administration services on this project).
