The general items of Work include the following: removal of an existing corroded, prefabricated metal awning cover; removal of corroded structural members associated with the awning at two locations; design, procurement and installation of two (2) new prefabricated awning structures; improvements to existing awning structures; removal and disposal of waste; excavation and backfill associated with the two new awning location support posts; support post cast-in-place concrete footings; associated lightingunder the new awning to match existing; protection of the existing lighting and electrical conduits under existing awnings; removal of existing awning coating product; installation of protective coating on existing and new awnings; and protection of existing facilities as shown on the Contract Documents Estimate Amount: $750,000 The successful bidder will be required to furnish the City with requisite insurance and Payment and Performance Bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price onthe forms included in the contract documents, as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to complete all work within 100 calendar days from the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. The City shall award the Contract for the Work to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined from the BASE BID specified by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process.
