The City of Gig Harbor requests bid proposals in accordance with the City's Small Works Roster Process (Resolution No. 1066) for Vent Replacement at the Grandview Tank, located at 3488 Grandview Street and for the installation of a new security ladder system on the Shurgard Tank located at 5700 Soundview Drive. Before submitting a price quotation proposal, prospective respondents shall be responsible to examine the site of the work and determine for themselves the physical conditions in relation to this project. Grandview Tank: 38' diameter x 30' tall (see attached photos of existing vent to be replaced) 1. Detail, provide shop drawings for city review and approval, procure material, shop fabricate, deliver and install 1ea x 24" diameter standard aluminum pressure/vacuum relief roof vents to meet or exceed DOH industry standard venting requirements for reservoir. 2. Provide an operated crane specifically for removing old vent and lifting up new vents and steel mounting flange at tank site. There is clear and easy access to the tank site where the work will take place and adequate space to set up and operate crane clear of obstructions and electric hazards. 3. Existing vent to be cut off, removed and waste hauled. 4. New vent neck riser with flange will be welded to the tank roof (see attached sketch). Shop finish painted with weld holdbacks. Vent neck to include tie-off ring. 5. Includes primer only paint touch-up. All surfaces to be touch up painted will be reached from the top side of the roof. (Underside of roof at handrail post location will not be touch-up painted). 6. The tank exterior ladder will be used to access the roof. 7. Work to be performed on a day with no rain, and when tanks roofs are not wet. Weather must be favorable for coatings touchup. 8. Work to be performed during normal working hours (Monday-Friday). 9. Includes prevailing wage rates. Shurgard Tank Security Ladder System: Height of attaching platform to ground is 14' (see attached photos). 1. Detail, provide shop drawings for city review and approval, procure material, shop fabricate, deliver and install 1ea, security ladder system. 2. This security ladder system needs to be vandal and unauthorized intrusion proof but allow for easy access for City staff use. Security ladder system shall be pad lock lockable and padlock access cover shall be tamper-proof. Outside of ladder system structure shall be constructed to deter any unauthorized climbing of outer ladder guard. 3. Provide all equipment required to stand, support and attach new security ladder system to existing tank platform. 4. Includes primer only paint for weld touch-up. All surfaces to be touch-up painted following installation. 5. Work to be performed on a day with no rain, and when tanks roofs are not wet. Weather must be favorable for coatings touchup. 6.
