Site Directions: Starting at the water tower near Hwy 92 & Patriot Avenue in Mahaska County, Iowa and following a route mostly on private easement to the north side of Eddyville, ending at Palmers Avenue. Mobilization - Lump Sum; Water Main, Trenched 8" PVC Main - 20,070 LF; Water Main, Trenched 6" PVC Main - 32,190 LF; Water Main, Trenchless 8" RJ PVC Main - 2,350 LF; Water Main, Trenchless 6" RJ PVC Main - 3,690 LF; Water Main, Trenchless 8" PVC with 14" Steel Casing Pipe - 120 LF; Water Main, Trenchless 6" PVC with 10" PVC Casing Pipe - 340 LF; Gate Valves in Place - 8" Gate Valve - 3 EA; Gate Valves in Place - 6" Gate Valve - 8 EA; Tapping Valve and Sleeve - 8" Valve and 12" Sleeve - 1 EA; County ROW Installation - 3,214 EA; 6" Hydrant - 5 EA; Air Release Assembly - 10 EA; Field or Drain Tile Lines - Perpendicular to Trench - 100 LF; Field or Drain Tile Lines - Parallel to Trench - 100 LF; Temporary Traffic Control - Lump Sum; and Conventional Seeding - 6 AC; SWPPP Preparation & Management - Lump Sum; Silt Fence Management - 300 LF. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified check in a separate sealed envelope, payable to the Owner, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Bid. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds acceptable to the Board on forms provided in the specifications and in the amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Award of contract will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder submitting the lowest Bid acceptable for the work. The Board of Directors of Mahaska Rural Water Systems, Inc. reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities and to enter into such contract as may be deemed to be in its best interest. Award will be based on the exterior coating system selected by said Board. Installation of approximately 11 miles of 6-inch and 8-inch water main pipe and appurtenances including but not limited to the installation of water main, fittings, valves, meter pit and equipment for the Eddyville connection, pressure testing, and disinfection. The owner will provide specified materials and the Contractor shall be responsible for the installation and testing of the transmission main.
