The City of Coos Bay is requesting quotes for a consultant or consulting firm to perform Special Inspections for the Wastewater Plant #1 (680 Ivy Avenue) Phase 1 Upgrade Project. Plant 1 was originally constructed in 1954 as a primary treatment plant. Secondary treatment was added in 1973 and the plant was last extensively upgraded in 1990. Coos Bay has awarded a contract to McClure & Sons Incorporation for a Plant Upgrade for $17,828,644. The upgrades include a new chlorine contact basin, secondary clarifier, yard piping, electrical & telemetry upgrades, a new generator, and upgrades to outfall piping. Special Inspections will be needed for the upgrade project. Construction is anticipated to last for a duration of 2 years. All proposers who intend on submitting a proposal must add their name to the City's proposer list. All questions and requests for additional information must also be submitted to City, JFfradelis@CoosBayOR.gov, by 2:00pm on November 17th, 2023. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
