A timeline for award has not yet been established. The Southwest Recreation Aquatic Center facility was constructed in 1983 and the buildings and pools are original to the facility making the facility over 39 years old. The facility is highly valued by the community and has a long history of successful year-round programming for lessons, wellness programs, lap swimming, and swimming and diving competitions. The facility has a 50-meter competitive pool with a depth ranging from 4 feet to 17 feet (793,000 gallons) and multiple diving platforms. The high diver tower has three platforms ranging from 5 meters to 10 meters high and several springboards ranging from 1 meter to 3 meters. This is an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funded project. The scope of work for this project includes key components to the pool shell, pool deck, dive towers, ADA improvements as well as mechanical improvements to the pump and filter rooms. No work is being proposed to the office and locker rooms.
