The Town of Central is accepting sealed bids for the Installation of approximately 300 feet long by 20.5 feet wide average paved asphalt road to extend the road at the Grand Central Station Disc Golf Course located at 101 An sleigh Drive in Central, SC. The Town of Central is not responsible for bids lost in the mail. The Town of Central has the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Project location is the Grand Central Station Disc Golf Course located at 101 Ansleigh Drive in Central, SC, 29630. This new entrance is located off Summit Drive behind the Central-Clemson Indoor Recreation Center located at Commons Way in Central. - Contractor will tie into the existing entrance paved road apron. The road will be paved for 300 feet which will go around the corner at the top of the hill. The average width is 20.5 feet. The apron is 23 feet wide and the new road will match the apron and narrow to go from ditch edge to ditch edge which varies from 19 feet to 21 feet. - Contractor WILL NOT paint any road markings. Town of Central will be responsible for painting any lines. - There is currently a compacted dirt road with approximately 1.5" or less of crushed asphalt. The existing dirt road has been properly compacted by Pickens County Roads and 4 Bridges. Contractor will apply 4" of Crush n Run stone base over existing millings and tie into the apron by grading enough dirt to allow for a smooth and level transition from the existing apron. The contractor will then install a 3.25" hot mix surface asphalt material prior to compaction. - Contractors may contact Tom or Kevin at the numbers listed below for a site visit and to answer any questions - Contractor is responsible for all tools and equipment at the job site. The Town of Central cannot be held liable for theft or vandalism of equipment. - Sealed bids will be accepted at Town Hall until Wednesday, November 15th, 2pm. The Town of Central is not responsible for bids lost in the mail. The Town of Central has the right to accept or reject any or all bids. - Construction is expected to begin as soon as possible. To keep disruption to the Disc Golf Course to a minimum, once the project is started, all efforts to complete the project within 4 days, weather permitting, should be the goal. - During construction, we will close this entrance to vehicle traffic until completed.
