The Bucks County Housing Authority encourages Section 3 Contractors to participate in the bidding process. Bidders are advised that the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act applies to this Contract and that the successful Bidder shall pay no less than the State Wage Rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check drawn to the order of the Bucks County Housing Authority, or a Bid Bond in favor of the Bucks County Housing Authority in a dollar amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid as security against the failure of the successful bidder to enter into a contract for the performance of the work stated above within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice to do so by the Bucks County Housing Authority. In the event the successful bidder shall so fail to enter into a contract, the bidder or the principal on the Bid Bond shall pay to the Bucks County Housing Authority the difference, not to exceed the penal amount of the bond or the check, between the amount specified in the successful bidder's bid and such larger amount for which the Bucks County Housing Authority may, in good faith, contract with another party to perform the work specified in said bid. The successful Bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening. he work also includes, but is not limited to, the preparation of the project site, the construction of the laundry rooms including any and all carpentry, electrical, roofing, flooring, and painting along with any and all related work at Shadywood Village, 812 Shadywood Drive, Perkasie, Pennsylvania, 18944, all in accordance with these bid specifications, manufacturer recommendations, all applicable codes and industry standards.
