**As of January 9, 2024, project was awarded to Dynamic Underground Services, awarded amount is $153,803.10.** The work includes but is not necessarily limited to the following: Furnishing, hauling, placing, compacting, and grading of material; preparing subgrade for Portland cement concrete (PCC) and hot mix asphalt (HMA); furnishing and constructing ADA compliant PCC sidewalk, curb, curb & gutter, decomposed granite, and appurtenant work to match existing; sawcutting, removals, and disposal; finish grading; clean-up and related work as required, to complete the work as specified by these Special Provisions, including plan exhibits, the Standard Plans and Specifications For Public Works Construction (Greenbook) 2015 edition, and the City Standard Requirements. The City anticipates awarding and executing the contract from late November to early December 2023, and holding the pre-construction meeting and issuing Notice to Proceed in either December 2023 or January 2024. Special Provisions (With Plan Exhibits) are also available for review free of charge Proposals are required for the entire work described in the Contract Documents. Proposals will not be considered unless they are made on the proposal forms furnished with Project Manual - Part B. The City of Lompoc reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or make the award to the lowest responsible bidder. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashiers check, or bidders bond of the prescribed form and made payable to the City of Lompoc for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, such guaranty to be forfeited, should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to furnish the required bonds and to enter into a contract with the City within the period of time provided by the Proposal Requirements. In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-8 License at the time of award. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the county of Santa Barbara, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations The City of Lompoc hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award The Design Engineer has calculated an estimate of probable construction costs for this project. The City does not wish to publicize the engineer estimate of the project cost since this information may tend to influence the number and nature of bids received. However, for bidders convenience, the City will publicize that the engineers estimate for the base bid falls within a range of $90,000 -$120.000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
