Lewis County is requesting bids to perform abatement on flooring mastic that was identified during a hazardous materials assessment prior to minor demolition in a building located at 2015 Kresky Ave in Chehalis, WA. The building is to be used for a temporary night-by-night homeless shelter until a permanent shelter can be constructed next door. BI/R-PD-NES-012723-02 Project will abate mastic that is identified as containing asbestos fibers (see attached report). Bid will contain all labor and materials to abate the material. Finished floor is anticipated to be polished concrete. It is requested that the bidder provide an add/alternate bid for removal and disposal of carpet and/or vinyl flooring prior to abatement work. Ceramic tile is anticipated to remain in place. This work is subject to third-party verification, which may require coordination with the verification vendor and will require that labels and other evidence of materials used be supplied to the Owner for recordkeeping. Project to abate flooring mastic identified as ACM during a hazardous materials survey in preparation for a minor demo project. Per Addendum No. 1: Further investigation has indicated the is a high probability that Mastic exists under the carpet on the south side of the building. Bidders should bid the entire floor to need abatement, approximately 6000 sq.ft. This project has been determined to be Public Works as defined by RCW 39.04 and WAC 296-127 and is subject to Washington State Prevailing Wage Laws.
