Elevator Maintenance Services The term of this contract shall extend from January 1, 2024, through December 30, 2026. Any prospective contractor (proposer) requesting a change in, or an interpretation of existing specifications of terms and conditions must do so by Wednesday November 29, 2023, at 12:00 PM. All requests should be made in writing to the Director of School System Operations, dtwombly@easton.ma.us All bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. c.149 Public Building Construction law and wages are subject to the prevailing wage rates determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit of not less than five (5%) percent of the value of the proposed work and made payable to the Town of Easton, the Awarding Authority. Bidders are reminded that the bid deposit covers the Town for damages when a bidder withdraws its bid after the bid submission date. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The Town's standard form of contract as attached to this IFB. The selected bidder shall enter a form of contract based on the same. Within ten (10) days of receipt of notice of contract award, if the selected bid is over $25,000, the successful bidder shall provide a payment bond of 50% of the amount of the contract. The Town of Easton is an affirmative action/equal opportunity owner/purchaser. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
