The City of Fort Myers is seeking qualified professional services to design a complete set of plans and technical specifications for the FDOT LAP project MARSH AVENUE SIDEWALK DESIGN SERVICES from Michigan Avenue to SR 80 (FDOT LAP #441900-1-38-01) hereby know as "LAP Project". The LAP Project is approximately 1.28 miles design of sidewalk on the west side of Marsh Avenue from Michigan Avenue to SR 80 connecting gaps of existing sidewalks, storm drainage improvements, and reconstructing the pedestrian bridge that crosses over Billy's Creek. The designer will be required to provide a survey for the project limits and any permitting required for the design. The design will be completed by 6/30/2024. CONSULTANT shall Perform all design services necessary for the construction of a 5-foot sidewalk, approximately 1.28 miles long, 6" thick, along the west side of Marsh Avenue between Michigan Avenue and SR 80/Palm Beach Boulevard, connecting gaps of existing sidewalks, storm drainage improvements and Roadway Lighting Design Geotechnical investigation or engineering U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE) Permitting Structural design CITY right-of-way permitting Landscape design Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE) Utility designs Preparation of easements Utility design services Construction inspection services (CEI). Sidewalk shall be designed to minimize impacts to existing drainage swales and inlets, utilities, and mature landscaping. As a result of the sidewalk construction the consultant will need to consider grading of swales (as necessary); installation of drainage structures and pipe; removal and replacement of existing sidewalks, driveways and crosswalks; installing special emphasis crosswalks, truncated domes, and pedestrian ramps; sign and mailbox relocation and/or replacement; and sod restoration, as may be required.
