Building Demolition at 14 S. LaSalle in Aurora, IL The City is looking to demolish an approximately 1,800 SF single story masonry structure with a steel joist and metal deck roof system. Asbestos and lead paint removal will be performed by others prior to demolition. Scope of services to be provided under this contract include: o Removal and disposal of debris inside of building (see pics included with Project Plans) o Demolition of building as shown in Project Plans, which include Demolition Notes providing specifications. o Demolition of entry island, including all fencing, brick, and controls o Remove and dispose of metal entry gate to parking lot o Haul off and disposal of demolition materials o Furnish and install Safety Railing as shown in the Project Plans The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Standard Provisions for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals contained in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions". The City encourages minority business firms to submit proposals and encourages the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. Submission of a bid shall be conclusive assurance and warranty the bidder has examined the plans and understands all requirements for the performance of work. The bidder will be responsible for all errors in the proposal resulting from failure or neglect to conduct an in depth examination. The Awarding Authority will, in no case be responsible for any costs, expenses, losses or changes in anticipated profits resulting from such failure or neglect of the bidder. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract.
