Construct new raised platforms at light rail stations on the Blue Line to facilitate the use of low-floor light rail vehicles. General work description: Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, material transportation, and performing all operations associated with basic site materials and methods as indicated on the Plans and specified in the Contract Documents. The work associated with the Bid includes performing the following work at 4 existing light rail station platforms along SacRTs Blue Line: 1. Construct PCC platforms in boarding area and PCC entrance/exit ramps, where shown on the Plans. 2. Provide and install guardrails/handrails along the back side of the platforms and ramps. 3. Construct curb with railing end treatment along edge of the platform perpendicular to the tracks, where shown on the Plans. 4. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to and after installation. 5. Modify, adjust, or relocate existing facilities, station furniture, signage and equipment impacted by the proposed improvements. 6. Modify shelters to meet clearance requirements. 7. Remove existing shelters and install new shelters at the Globe Station. 8. Replace and install new braille signage. 9. Install station pedestrian crossing pavement markings and signage. 10. Site clean-up and finish work.
