Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Completed plans call for the construction of a 4,047-square-foot, two-story above grade multi-residential development; and for site work for a multi-residential development.

In line with the Parks Canada Agency Department Sustainable Development Strategy and the Greening Government Strategy, Parks Canada seeks to build a Net Zero Carbon ready duplex in Inuvik, NT for staff housing. The design of the duplex was developed by kobayashi+zedda architects ltd. based in Whitehorse. The design was developed based on consultation with staff and stakeholders with careful attention paid to maximizing the energy efficiency. The side-by-side duplex with a total floor area of 376 m2 will be 2 stories and includes the following overall effective envelope insulation values: Walls: U-value of 0.067 (R-84.8) Roof: U-value of 0.063 (R-90.2) Floor: U-value of 0.070 (R-81.6) The foundation system will be a space frame and the siding and roofing will be metal clad. This posting is the Stage Two of a two-stage solicitation process: the first stage was to evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers. The second stage (Stage Two) is to invite the qualified suppliers to provide further qualifications and a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid.
