The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) is seeking an Expression of Interest for the proposed Conestogo Lake Conservation Area septic system replacement and upgrades, the Site is located at 6580 Wellington County Road 11, Wallenstein, ON N0B 2S0. An application to amend the Certificate of Approval (ECA) in support of the proposed replacement and associated upgrades was submitted in March 2023, a 45-day comment period ended September 3, 2023, and an approved ECA is expected by year's end. Due to the potential for adverse weather conditions over the coming weeks, the GRCA is inviting potential contractors to view the Site and conditions before winter. The actual tender will be published online through Biddingo at a later date and interested contractors must be registered at that time to view and submit a bid. This Expression of Interest is voluntary and will in no way impact the results of the future tender process. The proposed work includes the replacement of the existing septic tank and leaching bed servicing Washroom 1 (see project drawings). The existing system is to be removed and will be replaced with one 18,200 L septic tank, one 15,900 L pump tank and a raised absorption trench leaching bed. The work to be completed at Washroom 2 includes the decommissioning of the existing dump station and associated tank components. A new dumping station will be constructed and connected to the existing washroom 2 system. This includes installing one 13,600 L septic tank, converting the existing pump tank to a septic tank, and installing a new 29,500 L balancing tank. The balancing tank shall connect the existing force main to the leaching bed. A new water filling station is also proposed at Washroom 2.
