Site work for a water / sewer project in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Town of Marshfield (lead) and Town of Duxbury Bay Ave. and Gurnet Rd. Beach Nourishment Project. Supply, deliver and place 175,000 tons of compatible beach sediment on the beach. Work to be completed between 12/1/23 and 3/31/24. Estimated Cost $3,351,000 This project is being conducted by the Towns of Marshfield and Duxbury with the Town of Marshfield taking the lead for the administration of the project under an inter-municipal agreement. The project consists of supply and delivery of up to 217,320 tons of compatible beach sediment and placement along the Bay Avenue and Gurnet Road Beaches in Marshfield and Duxbury over a distance of approximately 3,540 linear feet starting in Marshfield north of the Bay Avenue-Bay Street Beach Access Ramp and extending to Cable Hill Way (off Gurnet Road) in Duxbury (see Attachment D for construction plans and general Figure 1). Compatible sediment (Attachment C) will be placed and graded to construct a beach with berm crest elevation at 8 ft (NAVD88) and width of 50 ft, then sloping in an easterly direction at 1V:15H to meet the natural grade of the beach. All beach elevations will be smoothly tapered into the existing beach topography at the north and south ends of the nourishment footprint.
