Purchase Type Term: 12/22/2023 02:00 AM EST - 12/31/2024 02:00 AM EST The Colorado Springs Fire Department is interested in reducing wildfire risk in Cedar Heights / Black Canyon area. The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) Wildfire Mitigation Section in collaboration with the Cedar Heights HOA, Glen Eyrie/Navigators and Colorado Springs City Forestry is proposing to mitigate 201.6 acres in the City of Colorado Springs Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). The area is bordered by Cave of the Winds Mountain Park to the west, USFS and private lands to the north, Garden of the Gods Park and 30th Street to the east, and US-Hwy 24 and private lands to the south. The total project area is APPROXIMATELY 201.6 Acres with vegetation consisting of mainly Gambel oak, mountain mahogany, three leaf sumac, pinyon pine, ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir, and juniper. Contractors will provide bids for each unit and a summation of all combined unit bids. A map outlining the total management area, treatment units, and acreage shall be provided by the Colorado Springs Fire Department during the pre-bid site visit. Implementation of work within the Management Area will begin after contracts are awarded and work must be completed before December 31st, 2024. The City of Colorado Springs reserves the right to reject any or all offers and to not make an award.
