Site work for a water / sewer project in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Work consists of uplifting Lake Overton to a Level 2 (Virginia DEQ specification) wet pond with safety improvements made to the earthen dam. The Work includes dredging sediment material to create a forebay, lake shoreline erosion protection and aquatic benches, a fountain for aeration, a wooden retaining wall, a new concrete spillway on the dam with the capacity to convey the 100-year storm event, dam embankment repairs including rebuilding the downstream dam embankment with a graded filter drain and blanket drain and a significant amount of shoreline vegetation management and forest mitigation plantings. A self-priming siphon will discharge from the main lake for base flow in addition to providing an operable low flow drain. The outlet structure for the sediment forebay will be a concrete drainage structure per a modified VDOT DI-7 which includes an operable low flow drain to dewater the sediment forebay in the future for removing deposited sediment. The final contract amount shall be determined upon completion of the project by multiplying the actual County-authorized unit quantities required for the construction of the project by the unit prices contained in the bid.
