CalRecycle seeks a Proposal to create a comprehensive Zero Waste Plan that addresses the following primary objectives to chart a roadmap for California to move away from a single-use economy to a fully circular and zero waste economy; Achieve and exceed existing waste and emission reduction mandates and goals; Identify and address gaps and overlaps in current waste management systems to be more sustainable, effective, and cohesive; Improve understanding of the full lifecycle of materials management (including each stage of the material lifecycle from beginning to end) to reduce loss and discourage disposal within a closed loop economy; Combat environmental health and justice issues associated with the lifecycle of material production, consumption, and waste generation; Maximize environmental, social, and economic benefits of a circular economy; Stimulate growth of the State's Circular Economy through activities such as the redesign of products, implementation of infrastructure that reduces waste and enables reuse, and development of markets for recycled materials. Contract Budget This Contract is valid and enforceable only if sufficient funds are made available by the Budget Act of the appropriate fiscal year for the purposes of this program. In addition, this Contract is subject to any additional restriction, limitations or conditions enacted by the Legislature, which may affect its provisions, terms, or funding. Contract Term The term of this Agreement will span approximately 22 months and is expected to begin in January 2024. CalRecycle reserves the right to amend the term of this Contract as needs arise Subject to availability of funds and approval by CalRecycle, there is a current maximum budget of $2,000,000.00.
