The City of HUNTINGTON PARK is soliciting Proposals from qualified and experienced consultants for design services and the preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) for playground equipment. Proposals are welcomed from qualified playground equipment manufacturers and/or vendors. The proposed design will lead to the construction of playgrounds that comply with current National Program for Playground Safety guidelines, standards and regulations that ensure safe, quality and inclusive playground spaces. Playground features must include equipment for both younger and older children. The design will build upon the enactment of previous safety initiatives and targets on mitigating the persistent concerns brought to staff's attention over the quality of the existing playground equipment. Properly designed playgrounds encourage active mobility, exercise and inclusivity. Improvements center on the health and wellness of space and place that address a youth population with the highest rate of obesity in the State. The City is seeking a qualified consultant to provide technical professional services related to the design of Playground at Keller Park. The consultant applying should have significant experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for park projects. The objective of the project is to complete 100% design and secure approval of all plans, specifications, and cost estimates by September 2, 2024.
