Seminole State College School of Construction Building D Renovation Wharton-Smith, Inc. is proudly the Construction Manager serving Seminole State College and is soliciting proposals from prequalified subcontractors for the construction of Seminole State College School of Construction Building D Renovation The project consists of a building-wide renovation and remodel of sections of the Center for Building Construction (Building-D) on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. The project shall refurbish, replace or upgrade building systems as necessary to support the Centers current and expected future programs. The current schematic design and estimate have accounted for roof repairs, envelope evaluation, mechanical upgrades, electrical modifications, plumbing modifications, security improvements, access control, and information technology (IT) upgrades. In addition, a partial or building wide remodel of selected instructional and support spaces has been included. The project scope of work has also accounted for, but not limited to the following: Program space upgrades Lineman Lab/Classroom, Soils Lab, HVAC Flammables, Electrical Lab/Classroom, Industry Trade Lab Modifications; Academic Office Suite renovation and expansion; Student Space Common areas, Collaboration spaces, break area, exterior space; Flexible Training Room; A defined Building Entry; Signage and Wayfinding; Interior Finishes upgrades paint, flooring, acoustical ceilings; Restroom Refresh (Base package) The RFI deadline is June 26, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Reference Number 0000335172 Budget: The College's budget for renovating the building systems at the Center for Building Construction is approximately $5,500,000. The scope of any additional laboratory, classroom or office remodels will be determined and budgeted during contract negotiation. The District Board of Trustees of Seminole State College of Florida is requesting qualifications from experienced contractors to provide design-build services for the building-wide renovation and the optional remodel of sections of its Center for Building Construction (Building-D) on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. The District Board of Trustees ("Board") of Seminole State College of Florida ("College") located at 100 Weldon Boulevard, Sanford, Florida 32773, in accordance with Florida Statute 287.055 is accepting sealed qualifications ("Statement of Qualifications") from the College's current Prequalified Contractors in response to this Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") for Design Build Services for D Building on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. The contracted Firm will work in consult with College faculty, administration and staff, who will outline academic program needs for the building and advise on the College's design, operational and maintenance standards. The Firm will integrate these needs into a design package to be approved by the College and will provide full construction services from planning through project closeout. Project construction must be completed and closed out by October 2026. *The District Board of Trustees of Seminole State College of Florida reserves the right to waive minor, nonmaterial irregularities in any or all statements of qualifications and accept or reject, in part or in full, any or all statements of qualifications.
