Project Description: This project involves an addition to the existing campus at the rear/south end of the campus. This addition includes ground up new construction and is roughly 4300 square feet. This project also includes several alternates increasing the scope by size of the addition as well as adding site elements. Location: Meridian Public School District, 1019 25th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. D. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders' Questions: Architect will provide responses at Pre-bid conference to bidders' questions received up to two business days prior to conference. Time of completion and liquidated damages Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work by Substantial Completion July 23, 2024. The work is subject to liquidated damages. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
