Site work and paving for a civil project in Clinton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The purpose of this project is to conduct asphalt resurfacing (1503 tons of new asphalt paving) of Main Avenue from Harding Street to North 3rd Street, as well as full depth concrete reconstruction of driving lanes between Roosevelt Street & North 2nd Street. The project also includes traffic signal modifications at the intersection of North 2nd Street & Main Avenue, including three new traffic signal poles along with a new control cabinet with controller and all new wiring, signage, & signal heads. Also included as part of the project are full depth concrete sidewalk and ADA curb ramp construction, curb & gutter replacement, various removals, full depth milling, earth excavation and removals, pipeline connections to existing sewer structures, and parking lot reconstruction at the southwest corner of North 2nd Street & Main Avenue. Also included as part of this project are ADA curb ramp improvements at several intersections, storm sewer adjustments, pavement markings, traffic control, seeding, sub-grade stabilization, rock excavation, construction staking, and other related road and sewer construction appurtenances. this project shall be issued on or before April 1st 2024. The late start date shall be April 1st, 2024. The contractor will have a total of Sixty (60) working days until substantial completion of the project, which includes completion of all bid items except traffic signalization and seeding. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to the City of Clinton, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount as security that the bidder whose proposal is accepted will enter into a contract for the above, and will provide the required bonds, with sureties to be approved by the City Council, which respective sum will be retained by the said City as agreed liquidated damages in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within ten (10) calendar days after award of the contract and post bond satisfactory to the City insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance. The City of Clinton reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of bids and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. The City of Clinton does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
