Work includes inspection, tank interior washout and cleaning, tank exterior power washing and cleaning, and preparation of a detailed printed and digital report of the tank condition. The report shall include an overall assessment of the tank condition and an itemized listing and estimate of cost for deficiencies noted and/or repairs needed. The work also includes minor maintenance and repair of water tanks where work is authorized by the Owner. A Performance Bond in the form and terms approved by the Owner in an amount not less than the sum of the bid will be required at the signing of the Contract, and in addition, a bond in form and terms approved by the Owner insuring payment for all labor and materials will be required. In addition, the Contractor must furnish at the time of the signing of the Contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications which will include Comprehensive Insurance, Contractors Automobile Liability Insurance, Owners Protective Liability Insurance, or a Comprehensive General and Public Liability policy naming the Owner, Engineer, and their agents and employees as additionally insured, and where applicable, Subcontractors Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope on forms provided in the specifications and shall be clearly marked as bid for: Water Tank Inspection and Maintenance (SAU Bid 23-07). The right is reserved to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. Liquidated damages for non-compliance of the work within the time limit agreed upon will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any formalities in the bidding. Contractors bidding on this project must hold a current license from the State Licensing Board of General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Owner.
