Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Victoria, British Columbia. Design plans call for the demolition of a library; for the construction of a 29,000-square-foot, nine-story above grade library; and 18-story above grade, 210-unit multi-residential development.
Construction of two-tower of nine and 18 floors at the site of Greater Victoria Public Librarys Nellie McClung branch on Cedar Hill Road at McKenzie Avenue, with a 29,000 square foot library in a shared podium and 210 affordable rental housing units. The District of Saanich propose to replace the Nellie McClung Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) located at 3950 Cedar Hill Road, Saanich, BC. TIMELINE: The district has issued a development permit. Project is pending building permit approval. Tender timeline is undetermined. Construction is anticipated to start in Q1 of 2026, with completion in Q4 of 2029. Further update in early 2026, upon approvals.
